Job Summary:
Under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.

Job Description:
Customer Service:
  • Manages the business relationship with the customer and acts as the primary support contact, coordinating all questions and issues that arise for the applications they support.
  • Resolves support requests in a timely fashion and achieves high scores on customer feedback.
  • Coordinates software updates and changes with users.
  • Participates in providing 24 hour, 7 day per week coverage for system users.
  • Coverage includes troubleshooting issues, answering questions from users, and resolving system issues, thus promoting and maintaining optimal usage of the system.

Application Knowledge:
  • Serves as a senior subject matter expert on content, processes, and procedures associated with the application.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of the software throughout the system's lifecycle.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge and expertise in the technical tools used to support the system.

System Administration:
  • Assumes primary responsibility for system administration duties for various systems, as assigned by the Director.
  • Monitors system performance, identifies and eliminates bottlenecks and system problems.
  • Ensures systems are up to date on vendor supplied updates and patches.
  • Maintains secure system by proactively applying critical vendor maintenance, auditing and inactivating user access as necessary.

Configuration:
  • Analyzes business processes and configures the system to support those processes.
  • Proposes improvements to existing functionality and works to fully understand and implement new functionality available in software releases.

Project Participation/Completion:
  • Participates in projects as assigned by manager/director.
  • Works independently to complete work within established timelines.
  • Assists in developing project tasks and works closely with project manager to resolve issues, remove barriers and avoid delays and surprises.

Change Control:
  • Establishes and manages change control procedures for the application supported.
  • Prioritizes and implements changes requested for the system.

Mentoring:
  • Mentors less experienced analysts in system support and administration methods and processes and implementation of those methods.

Performs other duties as assigned:
  • Keeps the Director informed of issues requiring attention and problems likely to result in missed deadlines or user impact.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to the Director as needed and requested.

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in a production environment or a strong interest in developing DBA skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of AI, ML, Agentic and process methodologies are a plus.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting, automation, or other programming/scripting languages.
  • A broad background in IT systems and services including software, infrastructure and vendor relations.
  • A passion for understanding customer problems and creating innovative solutions with strong analytical thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meet implementation deadlines and adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Experience in Healthcare IT or other highly regulated environment is preferred but not required.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Bachelor's degree requirement can be waived if the candidate has four or more years' experience supporting an applicable application.

Specialized Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of Information Systems, vendor's software tools and business processes.
  • Excellent collaboration and oral and written communication skills.

Kind and Length of Experience:
  • Four or more years of related information systems experience.
