Job Description

Looking for an Engineering Technician 2 to support our Mechanical & Energetics department’s Additive Lab.

As part of the Additive Lab, you’ll be using Fused Deposition Modeling to manufacture components out of polymer materials for all programs

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment, including 3D printers and post-processing tools, to ensure optimal performance and quality output.

• Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics and specifications.

• Validate, troubleshoot, and prepare CAD models and build files for additive manufacturing processes using appropriate software.

• Develop, document, and refine standard operating procedures for lab processes and equipment.

• Collaborate with engineering, design, and project teams to support prototyping, research, and production initiatives.

• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

• Assist in data collection, analysis, and report generation for material performance and process improvements.

Basic Qualifications for Engineering Technician 2:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.  

• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with the ability to understand technical instructions

• Experience working in a production, operational or test environment.

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Good computer literacy skills in MS office and 3D modeling/CAD.

• Ability to support rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime when required.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

• Able to work in manufacturing environment, including accessing ladders, stairs, and work platforms. Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree/some college in a STEM field and 4 years additional related experience. 

• Experience in Additive Manufacturing (3D printing).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Proficiency with Computer Aided Design
