Job Summary:

The overall purpose of the Housekeeping Director position is to ensure that the Facilitys environment, which includes patient rooms, bathrooms, common space, dining rooms and administrative offices, are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with approved Cantex procedures. As Supervisor, you are delegated the authority and responsibility to assure the Facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Prior experience in either a long-term care setting or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Essential Functions:
  • Plan, schedule and supervise housekeeping activities at the Facility.
  • Establish a work log or checklist for daily, weekly, or monthly housekeeping tasks.
  • Expected to be a working Director in the department performing direct housekeeping tasks.
  • Establish and maintain inventories of housekeeping supplies and equipment and ensure equipment is working.
  • Maintains housekeeping supply inventory within budget and to provide spend-down sheets to Administrator every Friday.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and company standards.
  • Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
  • Periodically assess and make recommendations for equipment replacement and repair.
  • Assists in recruitment, selection, and training of the housekeeping aides as related to their job duties.
  • Schedule departmental working hours, personnel, and assignments.
  • Complete employee evaluations on either an annual basis or post probationary period; as well as provide counsel or disciplinary action when appropriate.
  • Serves on various committees as requested by Administrator.
  • Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
  • Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
  • Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
  • Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
