Job Title: Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift (Extrusion Manufacturing)
Location: Akron, OH 44305
Duration: 03 Months + Possible Extensions
Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Hours: 38–40 hours per week (occasional weekends)
 
Position Overview:
  • We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support commercial production activities within an extrusion manufacturing environment. This temporary assignment plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, process integrity, and compliance with ISO and quality system standards.
  • The Quality Inspector provides real-time quality oversight on the production floor, performing visual and dimensional inspections, verifying documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of tubing products
  • Collect tubing samples from extrusion lines and conduct dimensional checks using a video microscope with measurement software
  • Verify line clearance prior to production start-up
  • Confirm correct materials, labeling, packaging, and brand specifications
  • Inspect tubing for visual defects (clarity, color, burns, scratches, imperfections)
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming products
  • Review manufacturing work orders to confirm product specifications
  • Support product release documentation and Certificate of Conformance (CoC) generation
  • Assist with calibration and equipment verification
  • Support ISO initiatives, audits, and quality investigations
  • Escalate quality concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Note: Inspections are repeated at line start-up and completion of each production run and will make up the majority of daily responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM) and occasional weekends
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong communication skills:
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working under ISO or cGMP standards
  • Familiarity with extrusion or similar production processes
  • Flexibility to cover 1st or 3rd shift if needed
