Job description

Our client is a is a leading international business law and litigation firm with over 600 lawyers across the globe. They are currently seeking an experienced corporate legal assistant for their Calgary office to independently manage the daily activities of her/his lawyers in their practices.

Your new role

In this new role you will be responsible for handling all administrative duties such as email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, making travel arrangements, etc. You will be responsible for Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system, as well as providing appropriate reminders. In this role under legal professional supervision, preparing legal documents and correspondence according to precedents and/or instructions (drafting letters, revising draft documents, and preparing document comparisons). You will also be liaising with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts. You will also be tasked with ensuring all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must be a team player who thrives in an environment that offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of individuals both independently and as part of a team. You possess excellent organizational skills, with high attention to detail, and must have the ability to multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this high volume, fast-paced environment. You should have a minimum 3 year experience in corporate law. Experience in Civil and commercial litigation will be an asset. Solid computer and typing skills; proficiency in MS Office 2010, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Pro, digital dictation, Worksite DMS, etc. CORES Level I or PPR Accreditation would be considered an asset, but not required.
