What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Digital Rights Specialist (Part-time), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Rights Specialist (Part-time), a strong understanding of copyright law, digital content licensing, and intellectual property management is essential, often supported by a degree in law or a related field. Familiarity with rights management software, digital asset management systems, and relevant legal research tools is typically required. Excellent communication, attention to detail, and negotiation skills help in managing contracts and resolving disputes. These skills ensure legal compliance, protect organizational assets, and facilitate smooth digital content distribution.

What are some common challenges faced in a part-time digital rights role, and how can they be addressed?

In a part-time digital rights position, one common challenge is balancing multiple projects with limited hours, which can make it tough to stay updated on rapid changes in digital policy and technology. Prioritizing tasks, effective time management, and clear communication with team members are essential to ensure deadlines are met and important updates are not missed. Part-time professionals often collaborate closely with legal, technical, and advocacy teams, so proactive engagement and regular check-ins can help maintain alignment and contribute meaningfully despite reduced hours.

What are digital rights and what does a Digital Rights Part Time job involve?

Digital rights refer to the legal rights and freedoms that individuals have in the digital environment, such as the right to privacy, freedom of expression, and access to information online. A Digital Rights Part Time job typically involves supporting initiatives that protect these rights, which can include tasks like monitoring online content for copyright issues, advocating for digital privacy, assisting with research on internet policies, or educating others about digital rights. Part-time roles may be found at NGOs, advocacy groups, or tech companies, and often require strong communication, analytical, and research skills.

Job description

About Loti AI, Inc
Our names, our faces, our voices, our personas and our memories are some of the most fundamental things we call uniquely our own. We carry them throughout our lives and share versions of them with those we spend our limited time with. Loti's mission is to make sure that who you are remains within your control. That everyone has the right to be remembered or forgotten and that technology should aid, not hinder, us in this effort. AI is a powerful tool, but we can't let the hammer become the architect.
Loti will promote human creativity and individuality by protecting those who share their gifts.
At Loti AI, we're building the infrastructure to protect digital identity at scale. Our platform helps public figures, creators, and brands safeguard their likeness and content across the internet. As AI-generated impersonation and deepfakes rise, we believe everyone should control how they show up online.
Role and Responsibilities
Loti AI is a tech company focused on protecting digital identity and likeness across the open web. We work at the intersection of AI, media, and digital rights.
We're seeking a part-time addition to our team to support marketing and communications execution including content creation, social media, and communications operations. This role will work directly with the marketing lead and contribute to day-to-day execution across social channels, press coordination, and content organization.
This is a hands-on role for someone interested in communications, writing, PR, or marketing who wants real ownership and experience at a growing tech company.
What You'll Do
  • Draft and edit social media content for LinkedIn, X, and Instagram
  • Research trends, news, and conversations related to AI, tech, and digital rights
  • Brainstorm and contribute content ideas
  • Schedule and publish posts across platforms
  • Maintain and organize content, press, and communications assets (blogs, links, transcripts, trackers, etc.)
  • Track and summarize press coverage and key announcements
  • Create simple visual assets using tools like Canva and/or Figma
  • Support ongoing communications and marketing workflows

Required Qualifications
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Interest in marketing, communications, PR, or journalism
  • Comfortable managing documents, trackers, and shared folders
  • Able to adapt quickly to new software tools and workflows

Nice to Have (but not required)
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets, Notion, Canva, Figma, or social scheduling tools is a plus
  • Prior experience creating content for or executing traditional marketing or social media campaigns or authoring blog posts
  • Interest in ethical AI and how the intersection of media, politics and technology industries are shaping the future

What You'll Gain
  • Be a part of a dynamic, high-performance, ambitious culture where highly accountable individuals are empowered to take ownership, deliver impact and drive results
  • Direct mentorship and collaboration with the marketing lead
  • Ownership over content that gets published
  • Exposure to PR, startup marketing, and media relations
  • Direct impact on the trajectory of a mission-driven company
  • Experience working at an AI company operating at the intersection of tech and culture

Details
  • Part-time (~20 hours/week)
  • Ongoing engagement with potential for expansion
  • Strong preference for SF or LA-based (in-office), but open to U.S. remote (PST hours ideal)
  • Up to $20 per hour

Loti AI is an equal opportunity employer. We value diverse backgrounds, ideas, and lived experiences.
Compensation offered will be determined by a number of factors including job-related knowledge, domain knowledge, skills, skill level, relevant years of experience, geographic location and interview performance.
