Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage detailed project schedules, sprints, and work plans

  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and budget, and escalate to leadership when needed

Job description

Heads up before you apply: We're pipelining for this role, not actively hiring today. We're expecting to land a contract soon, and we want a strong bench of great people ready the moment it does. Apply now and you'll be one of the first we call.

Lone Rock Point builds and manages digital experiences for government agencies, work that has to hold up to public scrutiny, strict accessibility standards, and real deadlines that affect real people. We're looking for a Digital Project Manager who thrives on turning complexity into a clear plan, keeps teams and stakeholders aligned, and knows how to use tools like Asana, and Google Workspace to move projects forward faster and with less friction.

You'll own project delivery from kickoff to launch and beyond: building the plan, managing scope and schedule, removing blockers, and keeping clients and internal teams in sync. This role suits someone who has run projects in a technical or web environment, is comfortable owning the relationship with a client, and wants to do work that matters.

What You\'ll Do
  • Develop project scopes and objectives in partnership with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Build and manage detailed project schedules, sprints, and work plans
  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and budget, and escalate to leadership when needed
  • Own the day-to-day client relationship, including regular status updates and expectation-setting
  • Run risk management to catch and resolve problems before they threaten a deadline
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date project documentation
  • Track progress across sprints and epics, and contribute to estimation and retrospectives
  • Set up and run performance reporting so the team and client always know where things stand
  • Apply accessibility and web standards (Section 508, WCAG) throughout the project lifecycle
  • Facilitate meetings that resolve issues instead of just surfacing them
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of project management experience in a technical, web, or software environment
  • Hands-on experience with Asana and Agile/Scrum delivery (sprints, backlogs, retrospectives)
  • Working knowledge of web technologies and the software development lifecycle
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven ability to take ownership, manage multiple projects and priorities without dropping details
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Ability to collaborate with a team - no egos here
Bonus Points if You Have
  • Prior experience with government, public-sector, or highly regulated clients
  • Familiarity with WCAG / Section 508 accessibility requirements
  • PMP, CSM, or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience with WordPress or another CMS used in enterprise or government settings
All roles at Lone Rock Point require the following
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired
  • Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
Contract Pool

This role is designed as a contract position, offering you the opportunity to experience our team and culture while showcasing your contributions. When the fit and business needs align, some contractors are invited to explore a transition into full-time roles.

Competitive Salaries

We tie compensation to seniority and experience. We are currently searching for a Project Manager with an hourly pay band starting at $50/hr. If you consider yourself to be at a higher level, we still encourage you to apply and can discuss additional opportunities with you.

Lone Rock Point is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
