Leidos’ Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Production Manager Weekend Shift to join our team supporting a stand-alone manufacturing facility performing work on a hypersonic weapon system as well as other DOD and aerospace applications.

Primary Responsibilities  

As part of the site leadership team, the Production Manager will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative team to support our nations war fighters.  Agility, flexibility, and creativity will be necessary to successfully navigate production challenges.  Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and lead a team of machinists and production technician, and provide leadership to 2nd shift support staff including quality and engineering
  • Maintain shop organization and 5S, performing weekly 5S audits
  • Provide effective passdown status between shifts
  • Work with production control team to understand deliverables and deploy resources effectively to support on time delivery
  • Work with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve production flow
  • Work with quality to understand status of nonconformities and support closure to move forward to the next step
  • Identify production roadblocks and escalate to appropriate teams
  • Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes
  • Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects
  • Identify and escalate risks in the production processes
  • Maintain department performance metrics
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Work schedule will be Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm, Monday 7am-9am for pass down and catch up with leadership

Basic Qualifications  

  • Candidate least 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • This position will be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado
  • This position will require the candidate to work Weekend Shift consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6AM-6PM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering, logistics, or business
  • Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification.
  • Prior experience in Deltek Costpoint
  • Secret Security Clearance
