Overview
The Manager, Digital Merchandising leads digital merchandising strategy, execution, and performance across assigned e-commerce businesses, with accountability for sales, margin, conversion, and customer experience. This role partners closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, and Technology teams to create compelling online shopping experiences that align with brand objectives and customer needs. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and leadership capabilities to drive profitable growth across digital channels.

Responsibilities

Digital Merchandising Strategy & Optimization

  • Develop and execute digital merchandising strategies that drive sales, margin, traffic, and conversion performance
  • Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, and Operations teams to align digital experiences with broader business objectives
  • Translate category strategies into compelling online experiences through product presentation, category pages, navigation, search, and content optimization
  • Create differentiated shopping experiences tailored to customer segments and purchasing behaviors
  • Evaluate competitive trends and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and business growth
  • Recommend promotional, pricing, assortment, and merchandising strategies based on customer insights and business performance
  • Optimize product attribution and content to improve discoverability, engagement, and conversion

Cross-Functional Leadership & Brand Experience

  • Lead and develop Digital Merchandisers, providing guidance on merchandising strategies, content execution, and business priorities
  • Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, and Creative teams to ensure a consistent brand experience across digital touchpoints
  • Influence homepage strategy, campaign placement, site content, and category prioritization to support key business initiatives
  • Support omni-channel initiatives and emerging fulfillment capabilities through customer-facing messaging and site experience enhancements
  • Establish content and merchandising standards that improve customer engagement and overall site experience

Performance Analysis & Business Management

  • Monitor and analyze key e-commerce performance metrics including sales, margin, conversion, search performance, traffic, and customer engagement
  • Identify risks and opportunities through reporting and business analysis, recommending actions to improve performance
  • Partner with Buying and Planning teams to support category sales plans, assortment decisions, pricing strategies, and profitability objectives
  • Present business insights, recommendations, and performance updates to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Develop initiatives that drive profitable growth and support long-term digital business objectives

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required
  • Experience in digital merchandising, e-commerce, retail merchandising, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of online customer experience, digital merchandising principles, and e-commerce performance drivers
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfort working with technical systems, digital platforms, and troubleshooting website issues

Preferred

  • Experience managing or mentoring digital merchandising teams
