Location: Saratoga Springs, NY

Employment Type: Per Diem

Shift/Schedule: Varied shifts

Salary Range: $31.84 – $52.27 hourly, based on experience and qualifications

 About the Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Imaging Technologist to join our team and help us continue delivering the level of care our patients and families deserve. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of our clinical team, ensuring excellent service, collaboration, and patient outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will perform all radiographic procedures efficiently using various imaging modalities (routine radiography, digital and spot fluoroscopy, mobile imaging, trauma, surgical, tomography) at a technical level that requires independent judgment. As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will also participate in student teaching.

What You’ll Do

  • Imaging: Responsible for performing radiology exams as ordered by providers to assist in the treatment and diagnosis of patients. Operates Digital x-ray equipment to perform diagnostic procedures according to MI department protocol. Positions and performs diagnostic x-ray according to established policy and protocol and according to patient’s age specific needs.

    Patient Care: Provides care and service to patients which meet their age specific needs. Ensures appropriate radiation safety techniques are utilized on all patients.

    Communication: Obtains and relays pertinent patient history to radiologist.  Maintains accurate patient log for permanent records.   Verifies physician order and ensure that patients are properly identified and prepared for exams.

    Equipment/Stock Maintenance: Maintains stock level in Medical Imaging area and reports special purchase orders to Medical Imaging Supervisor. Takes appropriate action in the event of equipment failure; following Radiology downtime protocol.

  • Technical: Ensures all studies are networked via PACS system immediately upon completion of exam.    Responsible for promptly entering data into the Meditech system upon procedure completion.

     Performs daily Quality Assurance and reports any problems to service engineer.

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
  • Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
  • Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community

What You Bring

  • Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. Licensure by the New York State Department of Health. For employees hired after 1/1/10 must obtain Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T) within 1 year of start date.
    BLS required.
