WHAT'S THE JOB?

Signature Dining is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to lead our digital presence across social media, web, and app platforms for our McGill University dining halls, retail outlets, and catering services. 

The ideal candidate is a creative, data-driven storyteller with a strong visual eye and an instinct for engaging content. You will own our Instagram strategy, maintain our website and apps, and produce compelling copy and visuals that connect with our campus community. This role requires someone who can analyze performance data, adapt their strategy accordingly, and consistently deliver fresh, high-quality content. 

Key responsibilities:

Social Media & Content Creation 

  • Manage and grow the Signature Dining Instagram account, including content planning, creation, scheduling, and community engagement. 
  • Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with brand objectives, seasonal campaigns, and campus events. 
  • Create high-quality visual content including photography, short-form video, reels, and stories. 
  • Write compelling, on-brand copy for social media posts, captions, campaigns, and promotional materials. 
  • Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to keep content fresh and relevant. 

Website & App Management 

  • Maintain and update the company website and apps with accurate, engaging, and up-to-date content. 
  • Ensure a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all digital platforms. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure menus, promotions, and event information are reflected online in a timely manner. 

Analytics & Reporting 

  • Track and analyze social media and other metrics to inform content strategy. 
  • Generate monthly reports on key performance indicators, engagement, reach, and campaign results. 
  • Use data insights to make informed decisions, optimize content, and adapt strategies for continuous improvement. 

Copywriting & Creative 

  • Write and edit copy for a variety of use cases including digital campaigns, email communications, signage, and internal materials. 
  • Contribute creative ideas for campaigns, activations, and storytelling that resonate with a university audience. 
  • Edit and produce video content for social media and digital platforms.

Médias sociaux et création de contenu 

  • Gérer et faire croître le compte Instagram de Cuisine Signature, incluant la planification, la création, la programmation et l’engagement communautaire. 
  • Développer et mettre en œuvre une stratégie de contenu alignée sur les objectifs de la marque, les campagnes saisonnières et les événements du campus. 
  • Créer du contenu visuel de haute qualité, incluant la photographie, les vidéos courtes, les reels et les stories. 
  • Rédiger des textes percutants et conformes à l’image de marque pour les publications, légendes, campagnes et matériel promotionnel. 
  • Rester à l’affût des tendances, mises à jour et meilleures pratiques en matière de médias sociaux. 

Gestion du site web et des applications 

  • Maintenir et mettre à jour le site web et les applications avec un contenu précis, engageant et à jour. 
  • Assurer une voix de marque et une identité visuelle cohérentes sur toutes les plateformes numériques. 
  • Collaborer avec les équipes internes pour que les menus, promotions et informations sur les événements soient reflétés en ligne rapidement. 

Analytique et rapports 

  • Suivre et analyser les indicateurs de performance des médias sociaux et du site web pour orienter la stratégie de contenu. 
  • Produire des rapports mensuels sur les indicateurs clés de performance, l’engagement, la portée et les résultats des campagnes. 
  • Utiliser les données pour prendre des décisions éclairées, optimiser le contenu et adapter les stratégies en continu. 

Rédaction et créativité 

  • Rédiger et réviser des textes pour divers usages, incluant les campagnes numériques, les communications par courriel, la signalétique et les documents internes. 
  • Proposer des idées créatives pour les campagnes, les activations et le storytelling adaptés à un public universitaire. 
  • Monter et produire du contenu vidéo pour les médias sociaux et les plateformes numériques. 
Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in marketing, digital media, creative writing, new media, communications, or a related field. 
  • Bilingual French and English (conversational French or higher required; work is primarily conducted in English). 
  • Proven experience managing social media accounts, particularly Instagram, with a strong portfolio of content. 
  • Strong skills in photography, video editing, and visual content creation. 
  • Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different audiences and platforms. 
  • Proficiency with content creation and scheduling tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Buffer, CapCut, etc.). 
  • Experience with website content management systems and basic web updates. 
  • Analytical mindset with experience using social media analytics and reporting tools. 
  • Creative thinker and strong visual storyteller with a keen eye for design and detail. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ClickUp or similar project management tools. 
  • Experience in hospitality, food services, or a university environment considered an asset.
