Role Overview

Coupang is seeking a Head of Digital Policy Communications to lead our digital communications strategy and execution for Coupang's US Global Public Policy and corporate communications efforts across our owned, paid, and social media channels. This seasoned leader will oversee the development, governance, and optimization of digital communications platforms, including driving editorial strategy for Coupang's corporate newsroom. Your work will be mission critical to achieving our public policy and advocacy objectives, as well as establishing Coupang's US brand and value proposition.

As a trusted partner to senior leaders across Policy, Communications, Business, and Legal teams, you will shape how Coupang communicates complex policy issues to external audiences in the DC and Seattle markets. You'll also serve on the front lines of our brand-building and related marketing efforts inside the Beltway and in other priority markets.

You'll build scalable processes that strengthen Coupang's digital communications capabilities to support crisis communications and rapid-response efforts, as well as steady-state and high-profile tentpole moments.

This role requires a strong leader with deep experience leading digital efforts for US and DC audiences, ideally at global corporations, large tech companies, or for top-tier political campaigns. The ideal candidate will also have experience leading a team in a fast-paced, global environment. Applicants should have strong experience managing and advising in rapid response or crisis communications scenarios, as well as supporting targeted advocacy campaigns in Washington. Experience managing digital agencies, budgets and achieving data-driven results is key. Executive presence and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to senior leaders are essential.

What You Will Do

  • Build and lead digital policy communications strategies and rapid-response campaigns that support Coupang's corporate communications, public policy, and business objectives for US and Washington, DC audiences.
  • Oversee Coupang's policy and US corporate digital assets, including the corporate website, newsroom and social media channels.
  • Direct paid media strategies and targeted advocacy campaigns to amplify key policy messaging and strengthen brand reputation.
  • Partner closely with Public Policy, Communications, Legal, Government Affairs, and business teams to identify, frame, and communicate priority issues.
  • Translate complex policy topics into compelling, high-impact digital content for external stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Identify risk and mitigate problems before they occur, protecting corporate reputation and brand.

Pay & Benefits 

  • Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation.
  • The base pay for this position ranges from $148,400/year in our lowest geographic market to $256,520/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
