Job Summary:

Acrisure is seeking a Director, External Communications, to join our growing team. The Director, External Communications is responsible for developing and executing integrated communications strategies that strengthen Acrisure's reputation, support business objectives, and elevate the company's brand presence. This role partners closely with executives, business leaders, and cross functional stakeholders to deliver compelling communications across external channels.

The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator with exceptional storytelling skills, strong media relations experience, and the ability to translate complex business initiatives into meaningful messages that resonate with key audiences. This individual will play a critical role in supporting executive communications, corporate messaging, media engagement, thought leadership, social media strategy, and reputation management.

Responsibilities:

Executive Communications

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop speeches, presentations, talking points, and thought leadership content.
  • Support executive visibility efforts through media opportunities, industry conferences, speaking engagements, and awards programs.
  • Create executive briefing materials and communication plans for key business initiatives.
  • Ensure executive communications are aligned with Acrisure's values, business priorities, and brand messaging.

Media Relations & Reputation Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with industry, trade, regional, and national media.
  • Identify proactive earned media opportunities that elevate Acrisure's brand and market position.
  • Draft media materials including press releases, statements, briefing documents, and background materials.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging issues that may impact company reputation.
  • Support crisis and issues management communications planning and response efforts.

Social Media & Digital Communications

  • Oversee enterprise social media strategies and content plans that strengthen awareness and engagement.
  • Support executive and corporate thought leadership initiatives across LinkedIn and other relevant platforms.
  • Monitor social media performance metrics and recommend optimizations.
  • Coordinate digital communications efforts surrounding company news, events, and strategic announcements.

Content Strategy & Storytelling

  • Develop compelling content that communicates Acrisure's vision, culture, achievements, and business impact.
  • Lead creation of press releases, articles, blogs, executive communications, videos, and other communication assets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify and promote meaningful stories.
  • Ensure brand consistency across communication channels and audience touchpoints.

Leadership & Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Manage and develop communications team members while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Operations, Investor Relations, and business leaders to align communication strategies.
  • Coordinate relationships with external agencies, consultants, and vendors as needed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Acrisure's communications programs and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing and executing corporate communications strategies.
  • Strong media relations experience and demonstrated success generating earned media coverage.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and storytelling abilities.
  • Experience supporting executive communications and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of reputation management and crisis communications principles.
  • Experience managing social media and digital communication programs.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, executive communications, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working within a complex corporate environment preferred.
  • Experience leading communications initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups preferred.

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $186,575 - $220,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
