Job description

Focus
Student fundraisers in the Digital Philanthropy Center are a critical component to keeping open lines of communication with alumni and friends of The University of Cincinnati. Additionally, you'll raise thousands of dollars a year for scholarships and UC initiatives. In this position you will call alumni and donors to solicit their support of UC. Working in our well-equipped call center, you'll receive the training and tools needed to be successful.
This position requires strong verbal communication skills, a problem-solving mentality, the ability to think strategically in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine desire to advance the mission of the University of Cincinnati. Working at the Digital Philanthropy Center is an excellent opportunity to develop your communication, negotiation, and fundraising knowledge and expertise while networking with a wide variety of members of the Bearcat family.
Specific Duties
  • Serve as an ambassador for the University of Cincinnati by discussing University initiatives, accolades, and accomplishments.
  • Call constituents (alumni and friends) to build personal rapport, update
    demographic information, and secure donations to the Foundation. Use additional tools such as SMS, email and video to support your outreach efforts.
  • Work with other associates in a team-oriented environment to achieve goals.
  • Commit to a minimum of three 3-hour shifts (out of six available shifts) per week. The shift times are Sunday 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday - Thursday 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

  • Must have at least 1 semester of experience as a UC student.
  • Currently enrolled at UC Main Campus with an above average grade point
  • Keen interest in fundraising with excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Strong work ethic and dedication to successfully completing tasks on time.

Reflection Course policy
Student's successful completion of the On-Campus Co-op Program involves enrollment in the INT 1000 (COOP 1000 starting Summer 2021) Internship Reflection course*, led by Experience-Based Learning and Career Education (ELCE) faculty. The course provides academic-based reflection and course assignments to guide the student in reflection and integration of coursework and skill development. 1 credit hour, (0 credit option for students enrolled in >12 or <18 credit hours).
*Students who are federal work-study eligible within the On-Campus Co-op Program are not required to enroll in the course to be eligible to receive compensation from the Federal Work-Study program. However, a student's enrollment in the course is integral as an element of the On-Campus Co-op Program. The student will be compensated either from departmental funds or the Federal Work-Study program while they complete their on-campus co-op.
Physical Demands
This position is considered to have sedentary work. Exerting up to 10lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position requires:
