Salary Range: $19.37 - $19.89 / hour

Job Summary:

The Instructional Excellence & Technology Department at RRCC is seeking a Digital Multimedia Assistant to meet communication needs for various projects, including development of instructional and informational resources. Duties include creating and editing multimedia content, and ensuring all media created meet accessibility standards. This role also assists the department with service management, organizing requests or project assets, and collaborating on position-related projects.


This is a student employee position that reports to the Digital Accessibility Coordinator. Department operating hours are scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM. The work schedule for this position is flexible within those operating hours, at the Lakewood Campus location, but may require hours outside of normal work schedule.


This position may work up to 20 hours each week while class is in session and up to 28 hours each week during academic breaks or breaks between terms while an RRCC student, depending on class schedule, need, and budget availability. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to a TIAA-CREF account when enrolled in less than six credits.

• Basic knowledge of recording techniques and video editing software.

Required Qualifications:

For work study employment:
1. Must be an RRCC student and have been granted a work study award for the semester the student is seeking employment and maintain eligibility.
2. Must be enrolled in at least half-time (6 credit hours) and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress for all credit hours.
For student hourly employment:

Other Required Qualifications
1. Must have a commitment to equity and quality customer service and the ability to interact and communicate effectively in oral and written form with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

3. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook PowerPoint) and have advanced computer skills and experience with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Webex etc.).
4. Must be reliable, punctual and have a good work ethic.
5. Must be a self-starter with time-management skills and a strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to work from campus (Lakewood campus location) and be eligible for student employment.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
• Occasionally moves, positions, and transports files and office materials weighing up to 10 lbs.
• This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
• The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
• Familiarity with service desk management systems.
• Familiarity with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies.
• Understanding digital accessibility guidelines such as WCAG 2.1.
• Experience creating infographics, animated content, video captions, and text transcriptions.
• Interest or experience supporting instructional, educational, or informational content.
