What is a digital accessibility program manager?

Digital Accessibility Program Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing and implementing strategies to ensure digital products and services are accessible to people with disabilities. They coordinate efforts across teams to comply with accessibility standards like WCAG and legal requirements such as the ADA. Their role includes developing policies, providing training, monitoring compliance, and collaborating with designers, developers, and stakeholders to remove digital barriers. By fostering an inclusive digital environment, they help organizations reach a wider audience and reduce the risk of legal issues related to accessibility.

By fostering open communication and advocating for inclusive design, they help create a supportive environment where accessibility is prioritized and integrated into workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital accessibility program manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Accessibility Program Manager, you need a deep understanding of accessibility standards (such as WCAG), project management experience, and a background in web or software development.
