Job Description
Position Summary
The Expediter is responsible for coordinating the flow of food orders from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring dishes are prepared correctly, timed appropriately, and delivered to the correct table. This position acts as the bridge between the kitchen and servers to guarantee a successful service. This position reports to the Chef de Cuisine.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
• Facilitate a timely and smooth service by ensuring efficient flow of orders from the kitchen to the servers
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority
• Assist in the final preparation of dishes
• Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature
• Deliver orders to maintain fast service
• Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning
• Responsible for assisting all team members in organization of kitchen items, to include, dry goods, kitchen equipment, storage containers, cleaning supplies and proper rotation and organization of all food deliveries
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• One-year related experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of quality and sanitation standards
• Demonstrate an understanding of health and safety rules and guidelines
• Ability to use kitchen equipment or utensils and carry heavy trays
• Ablity to handle complaints from guests to preserve the restaurant's reputation
• Ability to work under pressure in a face paced environment
• Ability to be a team player
• Ability to communicate in English
• Ability to transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request)
Additional Information
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
