The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and identifying new business opportunities for our industrial valve portfolio (safety, relief and control valves). This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical aptitude who can interface comfortably with plant engineers, procurement teams, and corporate executives. The BDM will develop and execute strategic sales plans to capture new accounts and expand existing relationships within core industrial sectors.

This is a remote role that will support thePA/NJ Region. Our ideal candidate must be in EST time zone, preferably within easy commuting distance of locations in Eastern PA/NJ/DE

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Expansion:Identify and penetrate new target markets, applications, and geographic regions for the valve portfolio.
  • Pipeline Management:Build, qualify, and manage a robust sales pipeline
  • EPC & End-User Engagement:Establish and maintain high-level relationships with EPC contractors, design engineers, and major end-users (e.g., refineries, chemical plants, utilities) to get our products specified on approved manufacturer lists (AMLs).
  • Technical Consultation:Partner with internal application engineers to provide technical solutions, ensure compliance with project specifications (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI, ISO standards), and deliver technical presentations.
  • Competitive Intelligence:Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify new product development opportunities and pricing strategies.
  • Tender & Proposal Management:Lead the preparation of complex technical and commercial proposals for large-scale capital projects and long-term supply agreements.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a territory sales plan that focuses on key accounts.
  • Increase market share in the electrical heat trace and industrial valve industries
  • Profile and penetrate key accounts by developing strategic goals and relationships.
  • Demonstrate the unique features and benefits of our products.
  • Identify and sell into new and existing process applications.
  • Effectively apply sales resources including demo equipment, presentations, and joint sales calls.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Outside Technical Sales.
  • Proven record in territory growth and management
  • Experience in the process industry is a plus.
  • Highly motivated and success driven.
  • Fully developed tactical sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent time and territory leadership skills. Extensive use of PPRD's proprietary CRM is crucial
  • Experience with Pressure Relief Devices, Control Valves, and Instrumentation ais a plus
