U.S. Army Social Workers use their skills to enhance unit readiness and the well-being of Soldiers and their families If you are a practicing professional as a social worker and want to combine your specialized skills with the desire to serve your Nation's heroes, a career as an Army Social Worker might be the one for you. Outstanding Opportunities As a social worker for the U.S.

Army or Army Reserve, you will provide direct services to help improve the mental well-being of our Soldiers and their families. Your responsibilities may include teaching, training, supervision, research, administration, crisis intervention and policy development in evolving situations where you can put your expertise and passion for others to work. Through this, you will promote unit readiness and emotional well-being of Soldiers, their family members and DA civilians.

You will also attend trainings, continued education programs, seminars and conferences to meet with other social workers, collaborate on new ideas and innovation, and broaden your knowledge on best practices in the field of social work. If you choose to join the Army Reserve, you will be able to serve your country as needed while continuing to support in your community. Whether you choose Active Duty service or Army Reserve, a career as a U.S.
