POSITION OVERVIEWย 

SEO Scholars Miamiย seeksย a strategic, relationship-driven, and highly organized Manager of Development to support fundraising, donor engagement, and external relations efforts that advance the organization's mission and long-term growth. This role will play a keyย partย in cultivating and stewarding donors, supporting fundraising campaigns and events, managing development operations, and strengthening community partnerships.ย 

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and project manager who is passionate about educational equity and excited to help grow a sustainable culture of philanthropy in Miami.ย 

Fundraising & Donor Engagementย 

  • Support the execution of annual fundraising goals and development strategyย ย 
  • Manage donor cultivation, stewardship, and engagement activitiesย ย 
  • Draft donor communications, impact updates, solicitation materials, and stewardship reportsย ย 
  • Coordinate donor meetings, follow-ups, and relationship management processesย ย 
  • Support major gifts, corporate partnerships, and individual giving effortsย ย 
  • Assistย with grant preparation, reporting, and submission processes; Coordinate with NY Development team in compliance with grants management protocolย ย 
  • Maintain consistent donor stewardship practices and acknowledgment timelinesย 
  • Lead on Give Miami Dayย 

Strategic Partnerships & Outreachย 

  • Conduct prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundationsย ย 
  • Support cultivation strategies for new donors and strategic partnersย ย 
  • Assistย in developing community engagement and visibility initiativesย ย 
  • Collaborate with program staff to elevate Scholar stories and program impactย ย 

Developmentย Operationsย ย 

  • Manage donor database and fundraising tracking systems;ย Maintainย and manage funding pipeline in Salesforceย ย 
  • Ensureย accurateย gift processing, donor records, and reporting, in coordination with SEO's New York Development Operations teamย 
  • Track fundraising progress, campaign metrics, and donor engagement activitiesย ย 
  • Prepare development dashboards, reports, and briefing materialsย ย 
  • Support budget tracking and development-related administrative processesย ย 
  • Help improve fundraising systems, workflows, and operational efficiencyย 

Events & External Engagementย 

  • Support planning and execution of fundraising events, cultivation gatherings, and community engagement opportunitiesย ย 
  • Coordinateย logistics, invitations, RSVPs, sponsorships, and event communicationsย ย 
  • Assistย with volunteer and advisory board engagementย ย 
  • Represent SEO Scholars Miami at community and partner events as neededย ย 
  • Help strengthen relationships with corporate, foundation, alumni, and community partnersย 

Communications & Storytellingย ย 

  • Support development-related marketing and communications effortsย ย 
  • Gather Scholar, alumni, and program impact stories for fundraising purposesย ย 
  • Assistย with newsletters, annual reports, social media content, and campaign messagingย ย

QUALIFICATIONSย ย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย requiredย ย 
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, external relations, or related fieldsย ย

  • Strong relationship management and donor stewardship experienceย ย
