Shifts: Days, Monday to Fridays. 8:30am till 5:30pm

Location: This role will be site based, Rahway, NJ, however will be supporting direct reports in other sites locations around the East Coast and West Coast.

We're looking for a passionate and curious Laboratory Manager to join our team in Rahway, NJ. If you're excited by new challenges, solving complex problems, and learning every step of the way, you might just be the perfect fit. What You'll Do:

  • Oversee a team of approximately 5 staff members responsible for records management, sample tracking, and documentation across multiple databases.

  • Supervise daily operations, including data entry, record curation, inventory tracking, shipping processes, and customer interactions.

  • Train staff, assign and coordinate workflow, monitor team performance, and provide coaching to ensure adherence to SOPs and company policies.

  • Review records regularly for accuracy, identify documentation gaps, and address potential compliance risks.

  • Support intake and compliance workflows and resolve escalated customer inquiries or technical/operational issues as needed.

  • Build and maintain schedules for complex sample management operations.

  • Contribute to drafting and reviewing technical reports, tracking master audit lists, and ensuring supporting documentation is complete and submitted on time.

  • Use Microsoft Excel or similar tools to organize, analyze, and interpret data, and present findings using PowerPoint.

  • Foster a culture of accuracy, consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Who You Are:

  • Required: BS (or equivalent) in life sciences or related field; 6+ years supporting scientific workflows/data curation/compliance; strong attention to detail; excellent communication; Excel and basic PowerPoint proficiency.

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage data, documentation, and multiple priorities effectively.

  • Experience working across multiple databases in support of scientific workflows, sample management, or compliance efforts.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels of management.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data review, organization, and analysis, and PowerPoint for visual communication.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.

  • Demonstrated adherence to data management practices and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to supervise, train, and support staff in a regulated or structured environment.

  • Experience with Benchling/LIMS/ELN, familiarity with lab workflows and compliance standards, user training and documentation experience, and basic understanding of validation and release processes preferred.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $75,000 to $90,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on the individual's skills, experience and competitive market value. Additional total rewards include discretionary annual bonus, comprehensive benefits to include Medical, Dental and Vision, short-term and long-term disability, company paid basic life insurance, 401k company match, flexible work, generous paid time off and paid holiday, wellness and transportation benefits.
