Supervisor II, Laboratory (Hematology)
Location: Onsite - DeLand, FL 32724, US
Salary: USD $80,000–$100,000/year + $5,000 annual target bonus

Position Summary
The Supervisor II, Laboratory (Hematology) provides supervision over laboratory functions, including oversight of core lab testing, workflow from sample processing to results reporting, and day-to-day guidance on teammate performance. This licensed technical supervisor evaluates compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality, ensures adherence to policies on performance, customer interactions, and confidentiality, and may work day, evening, or night shifts. Reports to Laboratory Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide direction, communication, and oversight to ensure effective workflow, procedure adherence, and quality assurance.
Lead development and compliance with departmental policies, procedures, training, and competency programs.
Monitor performance against targets, identify process improvements, and serve as a resource for teammates.
Lead direct reports by resolving obstacles, implementing employment policies, coaching, mentoring, and managing hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Maintain teammate records, including performance reviews, timecards, time-off approvals, and competency evaluations.
Monitor workflow, delegate responsibilities, establish staffing plans, resolve operational/quality issues, ensure coverage, and cover work benches as needed.
Actively participate in quality improvement (incident reports, surveys, turnaround times), safety policies, and compliance with regulatory/accrediting standards.
Collaborate on Standard Operating Procedures, training programs, and section-specific compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
6–8 years experience as a Medical Technologist/Supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biological sciences, or related field.
Florida Supervisor’s license in Hematology.
Certification by a professional laboratory agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
