As a Finance Manager Corporate Staff Services - R&D, you will be responsible for partnering closely with R&D and product teams, with a primary focus on financial planning, analysis, and governance for New Product Introductions (NPI). This role will serve as a key business partner, providing financial insights that drive successful product development, optimize investment decisions, suggest productivity actions and ensure alignment with company growth objectives. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Partnering with the R&D team and senior leaders to develop financial plans for new product initiatives
  • Owning the financial metrics associated with new product introductions
  • Creating analytics that allow decision-making on new product introduction processes and generate improvements
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for R&D and NPI programs
  • Building and managing financial models, including business cases, ROI, NPV
  • Supporting stage-gate reviews with clear financial recommendations at key decision points
  • Tracking and analyzing project spend vs. budget, identifying risks and opportunities
  • Driving process improvements in financial planning, reporting, and investment governance
  • Approving capital investments impacting R&D

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3Mrequires(at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Nine (9) years of FP&A or corporate finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additionalqualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience supporting R&D, product development, or engineering teams
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance partners
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning tools
