Who You Are:

The Senior Director, Development (Data Center Construction) requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, strong background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements, with an emphasis on project/construction management. In this role, you will function as QTS' point of contact for new client builds and implementations and liaise between the QTS Sales Team (Account Exec and Sales Engineer), the QTS Operations Team, the QTS Property Development Team, and the Customer. The PSCM will work closely with existing Development Construction Project Managers to ensure the customers' needs are carried out to high levels of expectation.

The position will report into the QTS Property Development department and work closely with the CHO and CRO, depending on the origin of the project.

What You Will Do and the Impact You Will Have:

  • Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location

  • Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team, and supporting specialty consultants, to support customer's design needs, pricing, customer approvals, & implementation of specific deployment scopes

  • Manage the delivery of these projects, this position aligns clients' objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization

  • Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget

  • Serve as a single contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals

What You Will Need to be Successful (basic qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture

  • Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities

  • Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers

  • Be able to travel as needed for the business

Other Key Skills:

  • Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects

  • Experience with Construction Health & Safety Knowledge

  • Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment, RCDD a plus.

  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills

  • Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff

  • Ability to influence cross-discipline teams

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company
