GDMS is seeking a Business Development Director to lead a strong and diverse team supporting exploration and business development within the Strategic Weapon Guidance, Flight, and security systems domains. The candidate will use his/her expertise and understanding of Navy Strategic Systems community, mission operations, strategic guidance, missile, weapon security, and associated contractor industrial base to define business strategies, competitive landscape, and investment needed to bid and win opportunities in 2026 and beyond.  The candidate will leverage our GDMS Strategic Mission Systems core competencies in strategic weapon systems and electronics to develop relationships, win strategies, and capture plans in support of growth objectives for Maritime and Strategic Systems (M&SS) Line of Business (LoB).  The candidate will be a key business partner with the Flight and Security Business Area Segment Director and program team, responsible for providing oversight into the development of solutions, independent R&D, all proposal efforts, execution of new business funds, and ultimately managing one or more CRAD/BAA programs as awarded to GDMS.  Candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all project activities are compliant with contract and GDMS common process requirements, and performed and complete in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner without compromising the quality of the deliverables.
Skills and Knowledge – The candidate shall possess the following knowledge and skills:

  • Excellent understanding of Navy strategic deterrence mission and its technical and integration challenges
  • Expertise and understanding of Navy strategic deterrence community mission operations, strategic systems, and contractor industrial base
  • Strong knowledge of DOD acquisition process and policy
  • Relevant past experience managing programs, project planning, monitoring and controls in accordance with company policies, common processes, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Expertise in assessing market and opportunity sets, developing business and capture strategies, and leading technical teams to position and win new opportunities.
  • Development of accurate and complete Bid and Proposals and ROMS that are responsive to customer requests and achieve business objectives.  
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence GDMS leadership and program organizations in support of engineering, analytical and operational objectives.
  • Strong communications skills, oral and written, with senior personnel
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
