Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of New (De Novo) Partnership Development is responsible for assisting and partnering with market-based Directors of Development to identify, recruit, and manage physician partnerships for De Novo Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) projects. This role involves presenting investment opportunities, articulating HCA and Surgery Ventures Group (SVG) value proposition as an ASC partner, conducting due diligence on physician investors, managing syndication processes, and cultivating strong relationships with key physicians. The Director will play a critical role in driving strategic ASC De Novo growth and ensuring the successful development of new ASCs. This role has national coverage across HCA markets and therefore can have as much as 60%+ travel.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Physician Partnership Development, Relationship Management, Syndication Management
  • Identify and recruit physician partners aligned with strategic growth objectives for De Novo projects.
  • Present partnership investment opportunities to physician groups and individual physicians.
  • Assist with diligence of physician volumes and work closely with the development team to build a business case for the De Novo project.
  • Conduct due diligence on physician case migration and specialty mix.
  • Engage with securities broker to run De Novo offering meetings.
  • Keep physicians engaged heading into and during a syndication.
  • Ensure all paperwork, subscription agreements, suitability questionnaires, etc. is accurately completed and submitted in time before offering expires.
  • Ensure each physician investor wires funds for the investment in a timely manner before offering expires.
  • Cultivate relationships with external bankers and introduce such bankers to physicians as they secure funding for their investment.
  • Keep physician investors updated on progress of syndication and next steps. Continually monitor deadlines and work with the development team to ensure timeline is up-to-date.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians, securities brokers, consultants, and other stakeholders involved in ASC De Novos.
  • Represent HCA at ASC industry conferences and networking events.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified physician targets by market by specialty for De Novo investment opportunities.

 Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or physician relations within the healthcare industry, including 5+ years of management experience.
  • Experience with ASC development or syndication preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully recruiting and managing physician partnerships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
  • MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses (or willingness to obtain if HCA in-sources securities brokerage).
