We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our Untappd sales team and help us continue to grow our customer base across breweries, bars, and restaurants around the world. Untappd hosts the largest network of beer enthusiasts in the world and is the leading software platform supporting the beer industry. As a member of our inside sales team, you will perform the role of a Business Development Representative (BDR), whose responsibilities include engaging with qualified leads to schedule sales opportunities for our team of Account Executives. You will develop knowledge of our flagship product, Untappd for Business, as well as food/beverage, restaurant, and retail verticals. You will be expected to regularly deliver on aggressive but attainable key performance indicators. In this role, you will be the external face of Untappd to our potential customers and you will work to establish healthy, thriving relationships with business owners in the beverage industry including bars, breweries, bottle shops, restaurants, retail, and more.

With our holistic approach to training, you will:

  • Identify and differentiate the needs of various beer-based retailers

  • Initiate contact with and smoothly transfer opportunities to an Account Executive

  • Become proficient in an outbound transactional sales model

  • Learn self-management and time-management skills

  • Expertly schedule product demos every day – it will become second nature

  • Contribute directly to the rapid growth of Untappd and this sales team

Our onboarding program consists of a 5-day virtual training where you will learn all the skills that will be key to your success, followed by a 1-month ramping period where you will have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned and begin performing the BDR role. During this time, you’ll be provided detailed, clear performance targets and coaching to ensure your continued growth in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect bar, brewery, bottle shop, restaurant, and retail businesses by cold calling, emailing, and Facebook messaging

  • Meet or exceed the assigned daily activity targets

  • Apply the Challenger Sales approach to prospecting (overcome objections, go for the close, take control of the conversation)

  • Identify and manage your success indicators – be self-managing through data analysis

  • Establish a need for and value of our product, identify key decision-makers, and schedule demos

  • Manage your pipeline – from cold call to demo scheduled

  • Work closely with a sales management team dedicated to improving your skills and helping you grow as a sales associate and person

  • Utilize the assigned sales automation tools according to company guidelines

  • Exceed personal and team goals while teaching and learning from peers and mentors

  • Gauge and improve development with frequent one-on-one feedback sessions with your Sales Manager

Interview Process:

  • Once you have applied, please allow approximately two to five business days for our recruiter to reach out with next steps.

  • If selected to move forward, a thirty-minute phone screen with our People Operations department will be conducted.

  • Candidates selected to move forward in the process after the phone screen will be invited for an interview via Zoom. During this interview, you will spend approximately 20 minutes shadowing a current Sales Development Representative followed by a panel interview with the Director of Inside Sales.

  • You will be notified of the decision regarding your candidate status within 1-2 business days following the panel interview with the hiring team by our People Operations department.
