Job description


At Dmitriy & Co, part of the RH ecosystem, we are shaping the future of couture upholstery. With roots that trace back three generations to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, we celebrate and elevate the craft of upholstery through timeless and iconic designs that honor an enduring artisanal tradition.
RH is seeking a Product Development Associate to support our Design and Development team in the development and engineering of our furniture collection. This role contributes to the product development process by implementing engineering changes, creating manufacturing documentation, and producing technical drawings that support both client presentation and production. This role is based in our Dmitriy & Co Design and Development studio located in Los Angeles, CA.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation for our furniture collection
  • Implement developmental and engineering revisions across existing product lines.
  • Support the development of new furniture collections by partnering with the Design and Development team to translate design concepts into production ready CAD files and manufacturing documentation
  • Assist in the creation of design presentations and product development materials.
  • Document design reviews, development meetings, and project updates to support implementation
  • Create, maintain, and organize product support documentation, including specifications and technical resources
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in product development workflows, documentation standards, and engineering processes

  • OUR REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of experience in product development; furniture industry experience preferred.
  • High proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing processes; upholstery experience is a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and eager to learn within a design-driven environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Frequently sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation and using CAD software
  • Frequently use standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, and monitors, for prolonged periods
  • Review physical materials, drawings, and product samples, including standing or moving within the office or showroom environment as needed
  • Occasionally lift and move product samples or materials weighing up to approximately 25 lbs
  • Visually review detailed drawings, measurements, and specifications both digitally and in print
  • Travel occasionally within the office, showroom, or warehouse to review furniture pieces, prototypes, or materials
