Job description

Overview

Company Overview:

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, offers rewarding careers that provide you a sense of purpose. While working in a dynamic, welcoming, and collaborative workplace, you will be part of a team that contributes to a culture that positively impacts the communities and customers we serve.

Job Description

Build your sales career at the world's largest security company.

Allied Universal is seeking a motivated, early-career sales professional to join our Business Development Associate (BDA) program — a structured launchpad designed to accelerate your path to a full-cycle, client-facing sales career. As a BDA, you are the engine of our top-of-funnel revenue growth. Embedded within a regional sales team, you will convert inbound marketing-generated leads and build new pipeline through targeted outreach — developing the skills, relationships, and performance record that open the door to a Business Development Manager (BDM) role and beyond. This is a role for people who want to learn the craft of B2B sales, earn well while doing it, and grow fast in a company with the scale and structure to reward performance.

Responsibilities:

Inbound lead conversion (primary)

  • Respond rapidly to marketing-generated leads—web inquiries, campaign responses, and event follow-ups—qualifying prospects and scheduling meetings with the regional BDM sales team
  • Apply a consistent qualification framework to assess prospect fit including budget awareness, authority, need, and buying timeline
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in Salesforce including contact information, historical activity, and sales process status, ensuring every lead is tracked, followed up, and handed off cleanly

Outbound prospecting (secondary)

  • Conduct targeted cold-calling and outreach campaigns against defined prospect lists provided by the BDM community to establish qualified appointments
  • Build rapport with prospects over time, converting cold contacts into warm, responsive relationships ready for a BDM engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospects in the database with a consistent focus on advancing them toward a scheduled meeting
  • Engage senior business leaders — VPs of Operations, HR Directors, Facility Managers — with insight-led outreach that earns a conversation

Pipeline development & collaboration

  • Partner closely with BDMs and the regional VP of Sales to understand territory priorities, active campaigns, and ideal client profiles
  • Actively utilize Salesforce and sales engagement tools to manage cadences, track activity, and report on conversion metrics
  • Network within community relationships and actively participate in identified professional associations (e.g., BOMA, ASIS) as agreed upon with the VP of Sales
  • Leverage social media to build professional visibility and positively represent the Allied Universal brand
  • Participate in prospect meetings as requested by BDMs or sales leadership
  • Maintain confidentiality of all prospect, client, and company information
  • Contribute to the region meeting and/or exceeding its sales expectations

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, plus at least 1–3 years of inside sales, business development, or marketing experience, preferably with a service-based product; a strong combination of education and demonstrated sales performance will be considered
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills — confident, credible, and persuasive both over the phone and in person
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize CRM software to drive sales activity and pipeline management (Salesforce preferred; experience with ACT, Goldmine, or similar platforms considered)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with sales and operations teams to identify and resolve challenges
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal associates, sales leadership, and external prospects
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment — able to meet deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and follow through on commitments
  • Genuine ambition to advance into a client-facing Business Development Manager role

What success looks like

  • You will have a clear, transparent monthly target of securing qualified engagements between a qualified prospect and a BDM. The activity math is straightforward — work the process consistently and the results follow. Our top BDAs don't rely on luck or charm alone. They rely on volume, discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Within 12–18 months, high performers in the BDA program develop the pipeline knowledge, client exposure, and skill foundation to transition into a Business Development Manager position — where earning potential and responsibility grow significantly.

Compensation & benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000; On-target earnings (OTE): $90,000–$110,000 in year one, with meaningful upside for top performers
  • Variable compensation paid quarterly — so your effort is recognized faster and more frequently
  • Earning potential tied to both individual performance and regional sales achievement — when the team wins, you win
  • Structured onboarding, Sandler sales training, and dedicated coaching from sales leadership
  • Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, retirement and disability insurance
  • Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days
  • Vacation accrued at 3.08 hours biweekly

Why Allied Universal

Scale: The world's largest security services company, operating across every major industry vertical

Stability: An essential services business with consistent demand across economic cycles

Opportunity: A formalized BDA program purpose-built to develop and promote from within

Investment: Dedicated training resources, Salesforce tooling, AI-assisted practice tools, and ongoing sales coaching
