About the Agency: East Mississippi State Hospital is a comprehensive state-operated psychiatric facility located in Meridian, Mississippi, serving individuals across the region with acute and long-term behavioral health needs. EMSH provides inpatient psychiatric services, substance use treatment, and specialized care through multiple service lines, including adult psychiatric units, nursing facilities, and community-based programs. About the Position: This position provides advanced-level administrative support for East Mississippi State Hospital's Professional Development Department. Functioning within the Administrative Support Assistant IV classification, the Professional Development Administrative Assistant performs a variety of complex administrative duties that support training operations, staff development activities, compliance processes, scheduling, documentation, and departmental coordination. The position requires independent judgment in applying procedures, policies, rules, and regulations related to training administration, employee development, licensure and certification tracking, online learning systems, and departmental support services. The incumbent serves as a key administrative resource to the Professional Development Director, department staff, supervisors, instructors, and employees by helping ensure that training-related operations are organized, accurate, timely, and compliant with EMSH, DMH, and MSPB requirements.
What you'll need to be Successful: To be successful in this position, the employee must demonstrate strong organizational skills, professionalism, accuracy, and the ability to manage a wide range of administrative duties in support of Professional Development operations. The employee should be able to maintain records and schedules effectively, communicate clearly with employees and leadership, exercise sound judgment in applying procedures, and provide dependable support for training, compliance, and staff development activities. Success in this role also requires adaptability, confidentiality, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of EMSH Professional Development services.
