In this role, you will be accountable for the architecture, code quality, technical decision-making, and long-term health of the Hub product. You will collaborate closely with product management, design, backend and platform teams, and the broader web guild.ย

This is a hands-on senior contributor role with significant influence. While it does not include formal people management, it requires technical leadership, strong judgment, and a clear sense of ownership.ย

Key Responsibilitiesย

  • Own the technical vision and architecture of the Hub product, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform health.ย

  • Provide high-quality code reviews and contribute to shared web standards through the web guild.ย
  • Help evolve build, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines associated with the Hub product.ย

Required Qualifications & Experienceย

  • 5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining modern web applications.ย
  • Strong experience with React (functional components and hooks).ย
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.ย
  • Experience with Node.js (e.g., Express or similar frameworks).ย
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and frontendโ€“backend integration.ย
  • Proven ability to design and own large, long-lived codebases.ย
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.ย

AI-Drivenย Developmentย ย &ย Engineering Productivityย

Cova embraces AI-assisted development as a force multiplier. In this role, you are expected to actively leverage AI coding tools as part of your daily workflow while applying strong engineering judgment.ย

  • Uses AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor,ย Claude Code,ย etc. chat-based agents) to accelerate development and problem-solving.ย
  • Understands how to prompt, guide, and iteratively refine AI outputs to achieve high-quality results.ย
  • Exercises sound judgment in validating, refining, and integrating AI-generated code.ย
  • Applies AI to learning, prototyping, debugging, and refactoring โ€” not as a substitute for fundamentals, but as leverage.ย
  • Understands that AI tools are evolving rapidly and actively explores ways to move beyond basic code-generation use cases, leveraging automation, agents, and modern development workflows to improve outcomes across the software lifecycle.ย
  • Demonstrates curiosity and a willingness to explore emerging development practices, including AI-assisted workflows, developer experience (DevX), CI/CD, automation, and DevOps tooling.ย
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity, experimenting, iterating, and establishing practical best practices where clear patterns or processes do not yet exist.ย
  • Looks beyond immediate feature delivery to identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, build quality, deployment processes, and overall engineering effectiveness.ย

Nice-to-Have Experienceย

  • Micro-frontend architectures (e.g., single-SPA, Webpack Module Federation).ย
  • Design systems and reusable component libraries.ย
  • Automated testing strategies for frontend applications.ย
  • Azure and Azure DevOps pipelines.ย
  • Experience building software in regulated environments.ย
