Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Job Description
  • JOB SUMMARY:

Provides leadership and strategic direction for development, delivery, installation and maintenance of current and future technologies addressing internal and external business needs related to telecommunications network engineering.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Manage a team of engineers, providing network design, implementation, and operational support for nationwide network systems focused on voice, video, and data.
  • Develop, direct, and report on all activities associated with the health, performance, and reliability of all network components and services under Network Operations control, including capacity planning, availability trending, and network performance.
  • Define appropriate technology standards for use within the company's existing architecture.
  • Manage multiple complex projects designed to increase the efficiency of engineering operations and align engineering more closely with business objectives.
  • Reduce complexity by introducing enterprise-class technologies and processes.
  • Reduce overhead and increase availability by investing in systems and people holistically.
  • Research and provide strategic direction on the use of new products and technologies.
  • Understand emerging technologies and determine their appropriate use within business applications and business needs.
  • Establish proactive monitoring of all network-related components under Network Operations control and ensure quick resolution during and after business hours through strong documentation, notification, and escalation procedures.
  • Work with other managers to analyze information and operational needs and determine the scope of projects and acquisitions.
  • Recommend and develop plans for systems development and operations, including hardware purchases, budgeting, and staffing.
  • Develop and manage the network engineering budget.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with network hardware vendors.
  • Assist senior management in negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Partner with Engineering Leadership to develop and execute critical operational initiatives.
  • Oversee the execution of strategic initiatives and participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to drive all aspects of full-time and contractor hiring for the organization.
  • Manage the internal communications strategy across the Engineering organization.
  • Foster a data-driven culture focused on Engineering productivity, performance, and outcomes.
  • Lead key agile scaling initiatives across the Engineering organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience in a related field; or 10 years' experience in a related field
  • 6+ years experience in network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure management, with demonstrated experience supporting large-scale enterprise voice, video, and data networks.
  • 1+ year of experience in management or lead role
  • Experience leading complex network infrastructure projects and operational initiatives, including network design, implementation, capacity planning, vendor management, budgeting, and technology modernization efforts.
  • Strong knowledge of technology industry trends, emerging technologies, and networking best practices
  • Comprehensive and expert knowledge of networking
  • Strong experience managing large-scale programs
  • Excellent soft skills (e.g., interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative) skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization

Note: This role is 5 days in office
Preferred
  • 2 or more years of experience in a management role preferred
  • 3-5 years' direct experience managing network teams.
  • BA/BA or Advanced degree
