Position Summary Information
Duties
The Endpoint Systems Specialist is responsible for the technical management and maintenance of Endpoint campus computing systems, software environments, and application integrations supporting faculty, staff, and institutional operations. This position serves as Tier 2 technical support within CSS, owns the software lifecycle across campus endpoints, and ensures desktop systems are properly imaged, updated, and integrated with university-wide infrastructure. The Endpoint Systems Specialist works closely with the team on hardware deployment and with MIS on integration standards and is fully accountable within the ticketing system for all assigned work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Administer endpoint management platforms including Microsoft Intune, and related solutions
  • Administer software updates and patches across campus endpoints in coordination with university security standards
  • Manage and maintain integrations between desktop/endpoint systems and university platforms
  • Track and maintain campus-wide software license inventory and compliance under Director oversight
  • Implement desktop software in alignment with OIT requirements and standards established by the Director
  • Coordinate with peer technician during hardware rollouts to ensure imaging and software deployment are aligned
  • Provide Tier 2 technical support for software, systems, and integration issues per SLAs
  • Log, track, and resolve all support work through ticketing system with explicit SLA accountability
  • Support Director in planning desktop and software standards, including participation in regular procurement planning cycle
  • Research and recommend software tools and system solutions consistent with departmental scope and institutional mission
  • Evaluate hardware and software solutions for institutional use.
  • Develop technical specifications for endpoint purchases.
  • Coordinate procurement of desktops, laptops, peripherals, and related technology assets.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and assist with quote comparison and purchasing recommendations.
  • Participate in budgeting and lifecycle replacement planning.
  • Remain current on relevant technologies, software trends, and best practices in higher education computing environments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Associate's degree in computer science or related field
  • Training or equivalent experience in computer networking systems
  • Experience working in an educational setting
  • Experience with client-server architecture in a windows domain environment.

REQUIRED LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR SPECIAL CREDENTIALS:
Preferred:
  • CompTIA A+

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of endpoint device management tools such as Intune, Ninjaone, Barracuda RMM
  • Knowledge of Patch management lifecycle.
  • Knowledge with endpoint provisioning and deprovisioning in a client-server architecture

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 65% of the time
  • Frequently performs tasks that require moving self in different positions in various environments including tight and confined spaces
