Job description

Role: Desktop Engineer III
Location: Greensboro, NC
The Desktop Technician III designs, implements, and maintains desktop infrastructure solutions, ensuring effective functionality and security. Working under limited supervision, this role addresses complex computer issues related to the organization's desktop services and provides timely troubleshooting and resolution to minimize disruptions.
Essential Job Functions
Provides technical support to end-users by troubleshooting and resolving desktop-related issues promptly and efficiently.
Documents and manages the setup and relocation of desktop technologies,
resolving complex break/fix issues.
Maintains desktop management services such as remote control utilities, software distribution, and virus protection.
Records user tickets and inquiries, providing prompt support to enhance user productivity and experience.
Supports the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals so users have functioning desktop applications and can properly carry out their work responsibilities.
Performs routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and software installations to ensure optimal performance and security of desktop systems.
Sets up and configures user accounts, profiles, and permissions, as well as assists with user onboarding and offboarding processes to ensuring access control, data security, and smooth transitions for new and departing users.
Collaborates with the IT team to implement and maintain desktop security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive data and prevent security breaches.
Collaborates with stakeholders to assess, plan, and deploy new technologies that ensure compatibility, security, and optimal performance for the organization.
Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.
