Job description

Job Summary:
SAIC is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure VDI Engineer to support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) in enhancing national security through advanced IT solutions. The role involves architecting and implementing desktop virtualization technologies, managing applications, and ensuring compliance with security protocols in a highly secured IT environment.
Responsibilities:
• Architects, plans, engineers, and implements desktop virtualization technology and solutions. Manages end-user applications and software for desktops/laptops and applications hosted in the VDI environment.
• Coordinates with network, server services, and security teams to resolve issues and ensure a consistent and compatible configuration across the client infrastructure.
• Facilitates automated software deployment as well as image creation and compatibility. Ensures security compliance through patching, encryption, configuration management, remote device management, and reporting/visibility.
• Resolves issues involving end-user hardware or software in the virtual environment. Coordinates with technicians to develop and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and performs/directs testing.
• Researches, maintains, and applies expertise in emerging technologies, and industry developments, trends, best practices, and principles of VDI architectures. Develops knowledge articles related to VDI environments.
Qualifications:
Required:
• BA/BS
• Five (5) or more years of related experience. Four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (ex. Comp TIA Security + w/CE.
• VMware Certified Professional certification (Data Center v7 .x) with an emphasis on the Omnissa suite of offerings.
