The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for 2D and 3D drafting, updating existing prototypes, designing new prototypes, and creating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). The work focuses on automated high-pressure gas and liquid systems.

  • Utilize Solidworks and AutoCAD to create 2D and 3D drawings for automated, high-pressure gas and liquid systems, comprising cylinders, compressors, valves, manifolds, instrumentation, etc.

  • Prepare P&IDs, CAD models, detailed assemblies, parts, and drawings that meet project and code requirements.

  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary teams to design, test, and document integrated industrial automation and control systems from conceptualization through commercialization.

  • Translate customer requirements and functional needs into technical solutions through brainstorming and feasibility studies.

  • Design prototypes, test stands, and / or pilot plants as needed to facilitate Stage-Gate process.

  • Create Bills of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and technical manuals.

  • Provides technical assistance to manufacturing during system integration.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 2-5 years of mechanical design experience. Equivalent combination of education, academic projects, and hands on experience will be considered.

  • Creating CAD models and manufacturing drawings and P&IDs

  • Demonstrated hands-on and theoretical expertise in high pressure gas and liquid systems, liquid systems, comprising cylinders, compressors, valves, manifolds, instrumentation.

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience with PDM systems.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, NFPA 55, NFPA 1, ANSI, API, etc. Knowledge of ASTM G93 and ASTM G94

  • Experience with robotics
