Job description

Salary: $80 - $100K

Juniper Design Group is seeking a Design Engineer to support product development and sustaining engineering efforts across our architectural lighting portfolio. This role is ideal for an execution-focused engineer who enjoys hands-on engineering and CAD work, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and contributing to high-quality, manufacturable designs.


Youll work at Junipers integrated design and manufacturing facility, working closely with the Product Engineering Manager, senior engineers, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to ensure designs are accurate, reliable, and well-documented.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Create and maintain CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings
  • Support engineering change orders (ECOs), revisions, and product updates
  • Assist with prototype builds, fit checks, and basic validation activities
  • Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and engineering documentation
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on part details and revisions
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering and Quality with technical clarification
  • Maintain strong standards for accuracy, revision control, and documentation


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 25 years of experience in a mechanical or product engineering role
  • Strong CAD skills (Onshape experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with drawings, tolerances, and basic DFM principles
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or prototyping environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team player
