Job description

The BAS, Design & Project Engineer is a key role in our Building Automation division that performs engineering work on Construction based projects with the goal of developing a complete ATC submittal package based on rough designs provided by the Sales Department, while adhering to the respective projectโ€™s plans, addendums, specific job requirements and specifications.

Essential Functions

  • Control Valve Schedule (Size and select)
  • ATC Damper/Actuator Schedule (Size and select)
  • Select all required DDC components
  • Generate a complete bill of materials
  • Generate a complete set of project specific ATC schematic control drawings
  • Order components after approved submission is obtained
  • Identify and apply integration solutions
  • Communicate with the design team via RFIโ€™s to respectfully resolve questionable interpretations within the plan and specifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 year experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC controls strongly preferred
  • Experience with electrical systems, mechanical systems, integration applications
  • Tridium Niagara Certification
  • Proficiency in various types of controls applications, system networking and IT coordination
  • Experience with ACAD and Visio engineering software
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with network configurations, 3rd party integrations,
  • Good knowledge of Tridium
  • Good knowledge of mechanical equipment sequencing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

  • Criminal Background Check, PA Child Welfare and FBI fingerprinting clearance required; other clearances as required by state/districts of job sites
  • DMV check
  • Pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing during employment
