Job description

Equinox Engineering Ltd. is a Calgary-based EPCM firm. We are a market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional oil, heavy oil, carbon capture and new energy projects. Our clients include several of the largest oil and gas producers in Canada and worldwide. The Civil Structural Design Lead is responsible for the coordination and delivery of all civil structural drafting and design deliverables on the project. These include structural steel layouts and details, piling layouts and details, concrete details, ladders and platforms, steel structures, earthworks and associated 3D models.
  • Coordination of Civil Structural drafting and design activities on projects.
  • Input on schedules, engineering hour estimates and scope of work documents.
  • Monitoring of project deliverables to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Review of drawings and designs for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Provide direction, guidance and training to the design team on standards and procedures.
  • Support on preparation of 3D models using CADWorx, Advanced Steel and Civil 3D software.
  • Support on preparation of design drawings including structural steel, concrete, piling and foundations.
  • Lead internal and external 30/60/90 model reviews.
  • Coordination of electronic filing system, folder structure and file management.
  • Regular meetings with the Civil Structural Design Supervisor on the best allocation and utilization of
  • personnel to ensure project deadlines and budgeted hours are met.
  • Effectively communicate the status of tasks and design changes to the team.
  • Support and development of overseas initiatives.
  • Develop mutually beneficial relationships with team members and project personnel.
  • Leadership, mentorship and coordination of Civil Structural design personnel.
  • QA/QC assurance for Civil Structural drafting and design activities.
  • Coordination of a team of Civil Structural Designers.
  • Design layout of Civil Structural systems.
  • Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma
  • 10+ years' of EPCM experience.
  • Registered member of ASET.
