Job description

Job Description
This position is funded through a Perkins grant. Continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding approval.
Responsible for upkeep and organization of the facilities and instructional supplies of the Interior Design Department, including the preparation, distribution, storage, inventory and requisition of departmental supplies and materials. Assists department coordinator and works with faculty and students in an instructional setting.
Responsibilities
Characteristic Duties
Assists faculty and students with the development and implementation of the departmental displays.
Assists with High School dual credit projects, high school visits on- and off-campus.
Provides light cleaning and adjustments of equipment and machinery. Coordinates with outside contractor for repair and major maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Maintains inventory of departmental machinery, equipment, and supplies.
Ensures the maintenance of the laboratories and storage areas by inventorying, ordering, unpacking, and storing of supplies and equipment.
Develops, implements, and maintains a plan for control, review, and monitoring of all safety aspects with respect to lab instruction.
Aids instructors with lab preparation and student projects.
Attends professional meetings and conferences.
Performs related duties as assigned by the department coordinator.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is primarily within the department. A major portion of the work is physical. Must be able to frequently lift and transport a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to work in high volume, fast-paced environment. Day and Evening work required.
Qualifications
Education:
Certificate in Interior Design or related field required. Associates in Interior Design or related field preferred.
Experience:
Working knowledge and demonstrated skills standard office and drafting equipment. Strong organizational skills. At least 5 years' work experience in interior design, architecture or fine arts administration.
