We’re seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Technology Systems Design Consultant (IMIT) to join our Angus Connect team and play a key role in the successful delivery of complex, high-value projects across a range of sectors, including large-scale data centres, acute and non-acute healthcare, and commercial environments. In this role, you will lead the development of technology system solutions, ensuring they align with client objectives, project requirements, and industry best practices.

You’ll take ownership of conceptual and detailed designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost assessments for projects involving significant technical complexity. With advanced expertise in IMIT disciplines—such as communications, security, AV, and building automation—you will evaluate design constructability, guide the refinement of standards, and provide technical direction with minimal oversight. You will confidently engage Subject Matter Experts for specialized input while acting as a primary technical resource for the project team.

As a trusted consultant, you will work directly with clients to understand their strategic and operational needs, translate these into well-coordinated design solutions, and provide informed recommendations throughout the project lifecycle. You will actively contribute to project planning, lead or influence design coordination efforts, and ensure the technical accuracy and quality of deliverables through to construction completion.

This position is ideal for a seasoned, solutions-driven professional who thrives on technical leadership, excels in Revit and AutoCAD, and is passionate about advancing digital technology in the built environment. You will have the opportunity to shape projects, influence design outcomes, and contribute meaningfully to the continuous improvement of our technology systems practice.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Completes technology system design with little or no guidance.
  • Works directly with clients to identify and develop technical solutions.
  • Seasoned individual contributor with advanced knowledge in CAD/REVIT or equivalent individual expertise in this area.
  • Delivers technical designs for projects that could involve technical complexity, high project value and multiple trades.
  • Independently creates conceptual designs, design specifications and assesses constructability and does so on a regular basis.
  • Independently develops standards and reports and can sign off on them.
  • Provides input to project plans, participates in project planning and project management meetings and provides improvement
recommendations to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
  • Maintains technical accuracy of deliverables.
  • Accountable for all designs through to construction completion.
  • Works independently in solving difficult and sometimes complex problems.
  • Other duties as required

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in technology systems design within engineering consulting or complex project environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, capable of producing complete, high-quality drawing packages independently and ability to provide technical oversight to others.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate client needs into robust technical solutions, supported by strong conceptual design, specification development, and constructability assessment skills.
  • Recognized as a forward-thinking technical expert who applies best practices, introduces innovative approaches, and contributes to continuous improvement in design processes and standards.
  • Proven ability to learn, adapt, and expand technical expertise, while also mentoring junior team members and elevating overall team capability.
  • Strong accuracy, documentation, and quality-control skills, with accountability for deliverables from design through construction support.
  • Highly effective collaborator with experience working in and guiding multi-disciplinary teams, contributing meaningfully to project planning and coordination activities.
  • Deep interest in and commitment to the integration of digital technology in complex facilities and the built environment, with an ability to apply advanced technologies to improve project outcomes.
