We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with experience in providing project management on higher education, commercial, and industrial projects. The position is for an experienced individual with a track record in all phases of project development and project management including managing design and engineering consultants, contractors, and collaborating with both municipal and private clients.

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Lead a project team to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Assemble and manage internal and external project teams including planners, architects, consulting engineers, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Lead the development of projects from inception to completion by defining scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with client strategic goals.
  • Review and monitor design and construction documents from concept design through final completion, including review of change-management documents, for compliance with criteria, standards, and specifications on each project.
  • Assist in the process of determining requirements for and lead the process of obtaining permits, entitlements, and other requirements of Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes.

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and problem-solving.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to clients and senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and business development.

Financial Management

  • Develop, maintain, and report scope, schedule, and budget status throughout the project, including review and recommendation of all project invoices.
  • Create and maintain, or monitor, comprehensive project documentation for project financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and planned resourcing.
  • Review and approve generation of project invoices.

Business Development

  • Develop and evaluate RFP's and contracts.
  • Lead project acquisition efforts including identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with the Marketing team in preparing bids and interviews for jobs.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering, or Facilities Management required.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery methods including:
    • Design-Bid-Build
    • Design-Build
    • Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR)
    • Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)
  • In-depth knowledge of building and facilities design and construction projects.
  • Desire and ability to work independently with excellent people skills and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively on large and diverse projects.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive project management experience.
  • Software required:
    • Basic Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Bluebeam
  • Software desired:
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud (Forma)
    • Procore
    • Deltek Vantagepoint

Licenses and Certifications
