Description

The EPC Manager is responsible for developing and executing Applied Control's strategic engagement with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms across the region. This role serves as the primary relationship owner for key EPC accounts and is responsible for influencing projects from specification through execution, while driving collaboration across all Applied Control business units. The position requires extensive project management expertise, a deep understanding of industrial automation and flow control technologies, strong knowledge of Emerson's product portfolio and organizational structure, and the ability to coordinate resources across multiple business units, manufacturers, engineering firms, end users, and contractors.

The EPC Manager acts as a strategic connector between customers, Emerson, Applied Control business units, and industry partners to ensure Applied Control is positioned early in project development and remains engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

Strategic EPC Account Management
  • Develop and maintain executive, engineering, procurement, and project management relationships within assigned EPC accounts.
  • Create and execute annual account plans for strategic EPC customers.
  • Drive specification influence activities to position Applied Control and Emerson technologies early in project development.
  • Identify and qualify capital projects, maintenance opportunities, and emerging programs within assigned accounts.
  • Maintain visibility into project pipelines, funding status, awards, and execution schedules.
EPC Account Manager Project Leadership & Project Management:
  • Serve as the commercial lead for large and complex EPC-led projects.
  • Coordinate internal resources and business units throughout all project phases, including:
  • Conceptual Design
  • Detailed Engineering
  • Procurement
  • Construction
  • Startup & Commissioning
  • Lead project opportunity reviews, strategy development, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations, project requirements, manufacturer capabilities, and Applied Control resources.
  • Track and manage major opportunities through CRM and project management systems.
EPC Account Manager Cross-Business Unit Integration:
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Applied Control's complete solution portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities that span multiple business units including:
  • Automation
  • Flow Control
  • Valve Automation
  • Pressure Management
  • Software & Digital Solutions
  • Lifecycle Services
  • Facilitate collaboration among business unit leaders, technical specialists, account managers, and operations teams.
  • Build and maintain business-unit engagement strategies for key EPC projects.
EPC Account Manager Emerson & Strategic Partner Engagement:
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of Emerson's organization, technologies, strategic initiatives, and business unit structures.
  • Develop strong relationships with regional and national Emerson leadership teams.
  • Coordinate joint sales strategies and project pursuits with Emerson personnel.
  • Leverage Emerson resources to support specifications, project pursuits, customer engagement, and executive alignment.
  • Maintain working knowledge of complementary technology partners and strategic suppliers whose products impact project success.
  • Monitor market trends, capital spending activity, engineering standards, and competitive positioning.
  • Identify specification opportunities and threats within key EPC accounts.
  • Provide regular project pipeline updates and market intelligence to Applied Control leadership and business units.
  • Support strategic planning efforts tied to major projects and growth initiatives.
EPC Account Manager Customer Experience & Relationship Management:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for EPC clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate customer issue resolution across functions and business units.
  • Ensure responsiveness and communication standards are maintained throughout project execution.
  • Support executive-level customer engagement and relationship development.
EPC Account Manager Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, construction management, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, process control, flow control, EPC project execution, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-disciplinary industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of capital project execution processes within industrial markets.
  • Proven ability to coordinate resources across multiple organizations and stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with EPC firms, owner-operators, contractors, and engineering organizations
EPC Account Manager Physical Requirements:

This role is primarily performed in mixture of a professional office environment and a plant or construction site. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift or carry moderate weight, up to 25lbs, for short distances.

This role will require the use of personal protective equipment or PPE when on customer sites and a strong awareness of safety risks.

EPC Account Manager Compensation and Benefits:

This role will pay based on a mixture of fixed and variable compensation, with target compensation, at plan, based in Centennial CO, ranging between $130,000 - $150,000. The role has the potential to increase compensation significantly with strong performance via a sales accelerator. The role is also able to participate in companywide incentive and discretionary bonus plans.

Compensation will be determined based on directly applicable experience and capabilities so may vary from these posting ranges.

This role offers an opportunity to participate in our standard benefit plan, which includes multiple medical options, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. The role also offers a 401K offering, with a company match, a generous PTO plan and voluntary participation in our 9/80 working schedule. This schedule generally offers a 3-day weekend every other week, as customer need and workloads permit.
