Deployment/Hardware Engineer - Skillbridge Fellowship Ft. Belvoir, VA Apply **ACTIVE TS/SCI W/CI POLY SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED** D2 Consulting is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) providing a broad range of IT Services to the Federal Government.  We proudly support the US Intelligence Community and are focused on cyber security, software development, systems engineering, enterprise operations, data analytics and visualization, and cloud engineering. Job Description: This is an unpaid fellowship through the DOD Skillbridge program.  The candidate selected through this program will not receive compensation or benefits through D2 Consulting but will rather remain an employee of DOD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DOD.  You will perform numerous functions to include Systems Administration, Property/Asset Management, Testing, and Configuration Management functions.  This position will require up to 50% travel as well as travel to Chantilly, VA.  A valid Driverโ€™s License is required for this role. System Administration duties: * Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems * Help maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems * Maintain system documentation * Interact with users and evaluate vendor products * Coordinate hardware and software installation and provide backup recovery * Monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources * Participate in systems testing and document results * Provide advice and training to end-users * Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned * Monitor IMS and reporting incidents with directives * Monitor Ams/DMs to determine possible impacts to operations of services * Monitor and clean-up orphaned tickets * Monitor and enforce compliance of Incident Management Policy * Maintain Incident Management policy * Work to improve situational awareness * Monitor and facilitate resolution of tickets older than 30 days * Monitor and facilitate tasks for the Problem Management team * Control, disseminate, and monitor ticket queues * Draft Service Maintenance/Outage/Restoral Announcements * Facilitate the creation and submission of after-action reports for major incidents and outages when applicable * Communicate and coordinate with Incident Managers and/or representatives from other contracts when necessary * Exercise independent judgement and decision making * Participates in special projects as required Property/Asset Management duties: * Develop and implement system improvements, processes and procedures, and training necessary to manage and protect government and corporate property investments; supervises assigned staff * Ensure timely receipt, acquisition, identification, documentation, maintenance, inventory, movement, and storage of property * Ensure proper disposition of obsolete and excess assets * Participate in the taking of physical inventories, and provide a quarterly inventory report * Ensure that periodic reviews are completed to verify that appropriate custodial organizations properly maintain and use property, and that records are properly maintained Testing duties: * Support software testing, QA, and CM activities * Review and evaluate software products and systems to ensure adherence to company and customer quality standards * Develop software/systems testing procedures and conduct tests * Work with software developers and engineers to understand requirements, identify test scope and acceptance criteria for release components * Follow QA release checklist * Provide QA input to improve installation guides and general deployment documentation * Develop and update technical documentation such as test reports * As needed, provide other QA related and Configuration Management (CM) support Qualifications: * Active TS/SCI w/CI Poly * Experience supporting information systems operations * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Strong analytical skills Additional Information * All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
