Reliability Engineering Department

The Reliability Engineering Team is responsible for the overall operating health of critical systems across Vantage global facilities. For each of the major systems Electrical, Mechanical, and Controls, the Reliability Engineering team is responsible for ensuring success in the commissioning stages of new construction, evaluating and improving the reliability and performance of existing critical infrastructure, sustaining equipment operational availability through maintenance program design, providing ongoing technical support to the Site Operations Teams, as well as providing systems reliability and maintainability feedback to the Design Engineering teams for future design considerations.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Pheonix, AZ

The Site Deployment Project Manager, Critical Facilities is responsible for facilitating smooth transitions of new data centers to Site Operations teams and ensuring Operational Readiness at Site Turnover from Construction. Requirements for this position include an understanding of data center facility operations, data center operating standard processes, and understanding of site critical systems. This position is highly multi-functional and interfaces peer teams in Engineering, Construction, Business Operations, Site Operations, requiring engagement at multiple levels of management throughout the company. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and team partnership.

Essential Job Functions

  • Act as a key point of contact coordinating Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Business Operations, and Site Operations teams to seamlessly transition new data centers to Site Operations.

  • Assist with the recruitment, staffing, onboarding, and training of new Operations teams at greenfield sites, chipping in to the effective operational launch of these locations.

  • Ensure complete program level Operations protocols, procedures, and standards are in place for newly built facilities to achieve Operational Readiness.

  • Ensure quality of Commissioning and Facility Acceptance necessary to deliver a technically sound facility to Site Operations.

Duties

  • Maintain communication and collaborate with business partners and internal team members during all phases of a new data center build.

  • Lead all aspects of schedules and facilitate cross team engagement keeping pace with Construction delivery dates.

  • Ensure accurate, on-time completion of Ops Site Deployment quality control checklists and Site Start-Up processes.

  • Compile Procedures (MOP, SOP, EOP Templates) for Site Start Up across all Sites in deployment and adapt MOP, SOP, EOP templates to Site Specifics.

  • Ensure the readiness of Operations Support spaces including Tool shop, Critical Spares storage spaces.

  • Ensure the site is safe to operate with Safety Protocols, Safety Equipment, a Signage in place.

  • Ensure Billing System Readiness and multi-functional contributions are fully coordinated.

  • Ensure Asset Management Systems are in place and Site Equipment is fully accounted for including Warranty and Spare Parts information.

  • Ensure CMMS is fully populated with equipment data and maintenance scheduling plans.

  • Ensure the Site Security Systems are fully deployed at Site Turnover.

  • Ensure Site Operators are fully trained and ready to operate and maintain critical systems.

  • Ensure Permits, Licenses, Agreements are in place to facilitate Operations.

  • Ensure 3rd party maintenance suppliers and contract agreements are set-up prior to Site Turnover.

  • Support site mobilization including procuring spares, tools, and consumables. Evaluate site operating demands and provide operator staffing recommendations and support hiring and onboarding of Site Operations teams.

  • Conduct reviews of turnover documentations such as O&M's, as built & record drawings, permits, certificates, and warranty documents.

  • Perform site walks and site turnover walks to ensure Operational Readiness requirements are met.

  • Share lessons learned that have been collected for consideration/mitigation in future builds.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the formal transfer of site responsibility from Construction to Operations.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role in Critical Facilities Operations or Maintenance Operations with exposure to mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.

  • Or 2+ Years of experience in industrial Construction or Commissioning in a technical capacity.

  • Or 2+ years of Project Management experience running multi-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to define these areas for other teams and team members.

  • Ability to create teams from various departments and work in a high-level communication environment while promoting a team mentality.

  • Ability to initiate, drive and deliver projects, and communicate plans and findings to internal customers and partners.

  • Ability to travel up to 40% of total work time.

  • Ability to travel internationally in North America.

  • Ability to commute into Vantage campus/building location weekly for on-site work.
