Location: Houston, TX (Galleria)
Status: Contractor (up to 12 months)
The Demurrage Coordinator will assist the Demurrage team with various tasks, including data entry, processing claims, and allocating them to demurrage analysts. Includes coordinating payment arrangements, preparing and filing documents, and maintaining up-to-date demurrage sheets and reports. The Coordinator will work closely with internal teams while also being able to work independently to resolve inquiries.
Responsibilities:
  • Review demurrage claims.
  • Record and process all claims received and issued by our internal accounting process.
  • Prepare and communicate payment instruction documentation to the operations team for delivery to various counterparties and customers.
  • Scan, send, and save the documents per company accounting and compliance process.
  • Report the status of demurrage claims to operations and trading teams.
  • Daily review and reconciliation of information in various systems and worksheets to ensure accuracy of transactions.
  • Responsible for verification of approvals of contracts before uploading into the online system.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Maritime, Logistics, or related field.
  • 0-3 years of previous settlements, claims, and/or demurrage experience, a plus
  • Previous experience working with counterparties is preferred
  • Bilingual Mandarin Chinese and English is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically expertise with Excel
  • Ability to quickly learn the company's ERP
  • Proactive and self-starter
  • Work accurately and attention to detail

*This position requires permanent, unconditional authorization to work in the United States as a condition of employment.
