What is a demolition bid?

A demolition bid is a formal proposal submitted by a contractor outlining the estimated costs, timeline, and scope of work required to demolish a structure or part of a structure. The bid usually includes details such as labor, equipment, debris removal, permits, and any specific safety measures. Property owners, developers, or project managers use demolition bids to compare contractors and select the most suitable company for the job. Accurate bids help prevent unexpected costs and ensure the demolition process complies with local regulations.

Job description

Build Something That Matters

Expert Dewatering & Construction (EDC) is an established Florida General Contractor specializing in heavy civil construction, dewatering, excavation, underground utilities, and site development. As we continue to grow, we are launching a dedicated Commercial Demolition Division and are looking for an experienced leader to build it with us. (SALARY WILL BE BASED ON VERIFIABLE INCOME)

This is not just another management position.

We are looking for a seasoned demolition professional who has the knowledge, leadership, and ambition to build a successful demolition division from the ground up. If you’ve spent years helping someone else build their business and are ready for the opportunity to help build your own division—with the backing of an established contractor—we want to speak with you.

For the right individual, this position has the potential to grow into a long-term executive leadership role with profit-sharing and partnership opportunities.

About the Position

As our Demolition Operations Manager, you will oversee every aspect of the demolition division, including estimating, project management, field operations, safety, scheduling, business development, and team leadership.

You will work directly with company leadership to develop systems, build crews, pursue projects, and expand our demolition services throughout Florida.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow EDC’s commercial demolition division.
  • Estimate commercial, industrial, municipal, and selective demolition projects.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and work plans.
  • Manage demolition crews, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure OSHA and all safety regulations are followed.
  • Oversee trucking, debris removal, recycling, salvage, and disposal operations.
  • Develop demolition means and methods.
  • Assist with project scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Build relationships with clients, engineers, municipalities, and subcontractors.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Mentor and train field personnel.
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing new demolition opportunities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial demolition experience (15+ years preferred).
  • Strong experience with commercial, industrial, structural, and selective demolition.
  • MUST HAVE AT LEAST 5 FLORIDA VERIFIABLE DEMOLITION PROJECTS within the last 3 years
  • Proven experience estimating demolition projects.
  • Experience managing field operations and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA demolition standards and construction safety.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Experience:

  • Government or public-sector demolition projects.
  • Interior demolition.
  • Concrete demolition.
  • Structural demolition.
  • Site clearing and earthwork.
  • Environmental compliance (asbestos, lead, silica awareness).
  • Heavy equipment operations.
  • Scheduling and estimating software.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

Unlike many demolition companies, EDC actively pursues projects in both the public and private sectors.

You will have the opportunity to help lead demolition work for:

  • Federal agencies
  • State of Florida agencies
  • County governments
  • Municipal governments
  • School districts
  • Utility authorities
  • Airports
  • Commercial developers
  • Industrial facilities
  • Private sector clients

Our company actively pursues Invitations to Bid (ITBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and other government procurement opportunities. If you have experience in public contracting—or want to expand into that market—we provide the platform and resources to help you succeed.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Thinks like an owner.
  • Takes pride in quality workmanship.
  • Leads with integrity and accountability.
  • Is proactive and solution-oriented.
  • Wants to build something meaningful rather than simply collect a paycheck.
  • Enjoys mentoring others and developing teams.
  • Is motivated by growth and long-term success.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Profit-sharing opportunities.
  • Potential partnership opportunity for the right candidate.
  • Long-term career growth.
  • Opportunity to build and lead an entire division.
  • Support from an established Florida General Contractor with an existing client base and strong industry relationships.
  • Exposure to federal, state, county, municipal, and private-sector projects.
  • Stable pipeline of commercial construction opportunities.

Apply Today

If you are an experienced demolition professional who is ready to take the next step in your career and help build a premier demolition division, we encourage you to apply.

Please submit your resume along with a brief summary of your demolition experience, the types of projects you’ve managed, and your salary expectations.

All applications will be kept strictly confidential.
