Technical Staff, Performance Engineering Technologist

 

Dell's Client Product Group (CPG) is looking for a Technical Staff System Performance Architect to join the Thermal, Power, Performance, and Acoustics team to create new & exciting PC products. This role involves architecting, analyzing, & optimizing performance strategies of cutting-edge PC products. Our team thrives on creativity & enjoys significant design freedom to integrate the latest technologies into Dell's award-winning consumer & commercial products. The team works at the forefront of technology, driven by a passion for innovation, harnessing each other's strengths, & radiates a strong sense of camaraderie.

As a System Performance Architect at Dell, you will be responsible for leading & defining the performance optimization & benchmarking strategies of mobile products.  You will work closely with other architects, including system EE, ME, thermal, BIOS, EC, & software teams to focus on maximizing the capabilities of leading-edge processors & to drive system-level decisions ensuring our mobile devices deliver the best possible balance in performance, power efficiency, & user experiences.  You will also represent the TPPA team at cross-functional reviews.

         Define system performance requirements and drive optimization strategies across the product lifecycle

         Partner with internal and external teams to develop innovative performance solutions using advanced analysis tools and benchmarking

         Evaluate the impact of new hardware, firmware, and software to guide systemlevel tradeoffs

         Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure products meet performance goals

         Represent the TPPA organization in crossfunctional reviews and technical discussions

Essential Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field and 15+ years of experience

Deep understanding of system and x86 processor architecture

Strong knowledge of balancing power, thermals, and acoustics for optimal system performance

Proven ability to assess, root cause, and triage performance impacts of new hardware/firmware/software and make strategic recommendations

Experience collaborating with major silicon vendors and using their performance frameworks

Proven experience applying AI-driven solutions to expand scope, accelerate development, and optimize team productivity

Desirable Requirements

         Graduate degree in a related engineering field

         Experience implementing machinelearningbased performance policies

Compensation:   
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this position is $216,000 - $297,000
