The Difference You Make:

The Manager, Storage & Data Protection Services, is responsible for the leadership, governance, administration, and strategic direction of the organization's enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery services. This role leads a team of engineers and administrators responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, recoverability, and compliance of enterprise data assets.

The Manager oversees enterprise backup platforms, storage infrastructure, disaster recovery testing, data migration initiatives, and regulatory compliance requirements while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and technology modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a team of Storage and Backup Engineers and Administrators.
  • Establish operational objectives, service level targets, and performance metrics.
  • Manage staffing, resource allocation, performance management, and career development.
  • Promote operational excellence and continuous improvement across storage and backup services.

Storage Services Management

  • Oversee enterprise storage platforms and services.
  • Manage capacity planning, performance monitoring, utilization optimization, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead storage modernization and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Govern storage architecture standards and operational best practices.
  • Direct storage migration projects supporting business growth and technology transformation.

Backup & Recovery Services

  • Provide operational oversight of:
    • Dell EMC Avamar
    • IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)
    • Dell EMC Data Domain
    • Dell EMC ECS
  • Govern backup policy management, retention schedules, recovery standards, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure creation, maintenance, monitoring, optimization, and retirement of backup jobs.
  • Establish backup coverage validation processes and perform backup gap analysis.
  • Review backup success rates, recovery metrics, and operational reporting.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Own enterprise backup recovery readiness and disaster recovery testing programs.
  • Ensure monthly restoration testing of business-critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate DR testing with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Validate Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
  • Maintain disaster recovery documentation and audit evidence.

Data Migration & Infrastructure Modernization

  • Lead data migration efforts associated with:
    • Storage optimization
    • Platform modernization
    • Hardware refreshes
    • Data center migrations
    • Develop migration strategies minimizing operational risk and business disruption.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, cybersecurity, and data protection requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Establish policies, standards, and operational controls for data protection services.
  • Manage operational risk related to data availability and recoverability.

Vendor Management

  • Manage vendor relationships and support contracts for storage and backup technologies.
  • Coordinate escalations and service reviews with vendors.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, renewals, and technology evaluations.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: in related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Required

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise storage and backup environments.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Strong expertise with:
    • Dell EMC Avamar
    • IBM Spectrum Protect (TSM)
    • Dell EMC Data Domain
    • Dell EMC ECS
    • Enterprise storage platforms
    • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

$138,750.00 USD

Maximum:

$240,000.00 USD
