Summary

The Carpenter will perform under the supervision of a foreman/lead duties including constructing, erecting, stripping, and/or repairing structures of steel, wood, plywood using carpenter's hand and power tools conforming to construction documents. Will be exposed to all the following duties but may specialize in one or more areas.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Carpenter will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Note that the areas listed are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by co-workers assigned to this role. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.

  • Installs Footing Forms
  • Builds and Installs Wall and Column Forms
  • Builds and Installs Structural Deck Forms
  • Sets Slab-on-Grade Forms
  • Preps and Sets Tilt-up/Precast Forms
  • Works with Building Layout
  • Ensures a Safe Work Environment
  • Participates in Training/Certifications
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Must have experience forming and framing decking for concrete structures
  • Must know how to fram and form columns and walls for concrete structures
